Laundry on the line to dry...

The spring semester has come to an end just as I begin a new series of cards. I am rarely completely certain were a piece of art is going and these are no exception. Last night, they took quiet a turn for the unexpected and hang, drying on the line of holidays lights. What's next, I wonder?
I also came very close to completing one of my "mandala" prints & seeing them displayed like this reminds me of the tile work I spotted a few weeks ago while visiting Atlantic City. I am, maybe, one or two colors away from DONE ! How exciting !

Could it be? More snow? (365 # 54)

We are waiting for snow-as much as 8". As we wait, I sit out my second cold of this winter season -watching, with my eyes closed, the lovely "Singing In The Rain". Made me cry- must be the fever I had ! I have always loved the magic of Gene Kelly . Besides just being amazing, he makes it look so effortless & filled with joy. Basically, he makes me want to learn to dance.
On Thursday evening I printed up more silkscreens and had to hang the biggest mylar prints to dry on my window. Here Nicki sits, peaking out from underneath prints and between plants, watching the very first flakes of this Sunday Morning.
This Thursday Eve I also began printing next year's Valentines! Here is what color # 1 looks like. I am still figuring out just how to proceed with color #2!

365 # 34/35

Just back from the printshop-decompressing from a day of printing. I brought some of the prints home to hang to dry and to ponder. I have been in the process of making my very first book for some time now. It involves much more than I thought it would ! Each sheet  will eventually be it's own 8 page book. The "how" of it is the complicated part! (Don't ask me how just yet!)
The last color of the day went towards a Valentine print-originally begun last year & never completed. I sometimes find that I hit a wall with prints and have to stop, put them away and come back to them later. It's that or risk ruining a print and that can be heart breaking! So now it is time to sit and mull and come up with the next step...
Post script:sometimes I'll create a etching or new piece of cut paper and that will cause me to return to some already finished prints to add to them yet again. A recent teacher of mine has come to ask: "How do you know when these are done?" My only answer : when I am dead. Otherwise, there may always be some element just waiting to be added-even years later!
